221207 07:00 Key West

We made landfall around sunset and decided to wait out sunrise on the water to transit the channel into the Key West Bight safely with daylight. After docking, the first task of the day was for me to splice the main brace with a shot of good rum to celebrate obtaining my MMC (Merchant Mariner Credential – USCG Captains License.) So we wandered over to Harpoon Harry’s for a marvelous lobster omelet and a shot of their finest rum for breakfast. I was on the midnight to 04:00 watch, so I had been awake and working for over 7 hours by landfall.
