We started the day off with a nice dive at the Rainbow Canyons on the South side of Pelican Island. After two dives, it was time to get some tanks refilled, then we finished the day off with a delightful sail to Benures Bay on the NE side of Norman Island.
Cast off the lines!
As expected, we spent the morning provisioning and getting situated on the vessel. Even though we didn’t get away from the dock until ~14:30, we still arrived at Privateer Cove on Norman Island with enough time to get our refresher dive in at the Sandy Ledges!
We’re on our way!
We are on the way! After yet another early morning flight, we made our way towards the Virgin Islands. Once again we ended up at the end of the Customs line when arriving at the BVI. This resulted in a late night at Pussers before we found a cab to take us to the BVI Charter base. I think we finally set foot on Oxygen, the 51′ monohull sailboat that would be our home for the next 10 days, around 10pm.
It was quite fitting to be setting off for this adventure on the 10th anniversary of selling my house and purchasing Ripple. Wow, what a decade it’s been. I’m truly living my dream, and enjoying live more than I ever had!
I caught this wonderful shadow of our plane surrounded by a full 360° rainbow in the clouds below our plane on the flight. Apparently, it’s called a Pilot’s Halo!
Assembling the crew
The crew for our next adventure in the BVI is getting ready, we’ve found what looks to be a great deal on a 51′ Beneteau from June 4 to June 14. If you want to join us or add on some time before or after the currently planned trip please let me know. I can be reached via the contact form located here.
